Herbal Garden area is about 1 Acre having 280 species of various medicinal herbs, shrubs, trees.
Since time immemorial importance of the herb is known. In ancient days treatment was mainly herbal based.

In ancient books the herbs have been selected for treating various disorders.

In Ayurveda the study of the drugs is given the prime importance. The drug can act as a 'Amrit' if used Judiciously or otherwise can act as a poison.
The intellect of the vaidya (Practitioner) should be of highest level to select the specific drug formulation for specific condition.
For the sake of our institute students and those who are interested in this field we have developed a herbal garden in the college campus.
At present there are around 225 clearly identified plants. efforts are still on to increase the present numbers.
Some of the important medicinal plants in the garden are:
Sarpagandha (Rawolfia Serpentina) used in hypertension and various mental disorder.
Ashwagandha (withania somnifera) used as a general tonic and aphrodiasic.
Kapikaechu (Mucuna Prururieta) for infertility and aphrodiasic.
Brahmi (Bacopa Monnieri).
Mandukparni (centella asiatica) as a memory booster.
Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus ) for Rejuvenation & anti oxidant.
Arkaparni (Tylophora asthamatica ) in respiratory problems.
Vacha (A corus calamus) for speech disorder
Kumari (aloe vera) for cosmetics.
